Multimedia Artists Career

After leaving high school, finding the right career is the next step in the plan of life. When choosing a career, one should tailor it to their personality and interests. Being the creative person that I am, the careers that suit me best are multimedia artist and art teacher. Multimedia artist tend to have an easier lifestyle than most other workers do. On average, multimedia artists make more than the average worker does: Multimedia artists earned average annual salaries of $68,060, according to the BLS. The top 10 percent earned more than $109,370 per year, and the lowest earners made less than $34,800 (Suttle). With that said, one might wonder about the process to reach that income in the field. One of these advancements is a basic understanding of computers. This basic understanding would then be built upon as, "Multimedia artists use advanced computer programs and illustrations to project their creations on screen (Suttle)." These necessities for the job are generally more demanding for multimedia artists than art teachers. Art teachers have a generally less demanding job outlook. Their main job is to help art students reach their full potential: "Art teachers spur students to unlock their creativity and express their thoughts, feeling and opinions through artistic means. Art teachers can teach students of all age groups or education levels (Art Teacher)." Not only do art teachers have a relatively simple job but they also have fewer requirements to advance in their career. These requirements include obtaining a full time job with a full time salary, certified art teachers receive a constant income allowing them to experiment with art in their free time. Most art careers besides teaching must have another side job to support their art career (Sakuwa). Overall, art teachers have a generally less demanding daily job than a multimedia
