In a simplistic definition, it is when the patient is valued as a whole in relation to their health. The nurse plays a vital role in patient centered care and the partnership between patients and nurses is the foundation. When healthcare workers implement patient centered care it insures that the patient and their family are at the core of every plan and decision-making.
