According to reality therapy, the client could be lacking love and belonging. For example, the client’s mother does not understand her, her father has moved to Colorado a couple of months ago, and she fears her friends will judge her. Hence, due to this lack of love and belonging, the client may be seeking counseling to help build a sense of belonging. Furthermore, the client may also be lacking freedom in her life. Although the client is only sixteen years old, she is lacking the ability to have freedom over her choices and life.
