Multicultural Self-Assessment After I completed the multicultural self-assessment, I realized that I should be more aware of the things I say and do. I now want to be more culturally sensitive and ensure that my words are not harmful or offensive to anyone. I am thankful that I grew up in a diverse neighborhood. When I was a child I did not understand the importance of being a diverse person. In reviewing the text, I can see the importance of being a diverse counselor. Counselors are aware of their client worldviews and whenever possible immerse themselves in diverse experiences (Hays & Gray, 2014, P.243). I plan to always be self aware, continue to education myself and complete trainings about diversity.
