I really enjoyed your discussion on family systems and was wondering your thoughts on Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT). Due to a lack of licensed providers in my current county of residence, the only outpatient level of care for adolescents struggling with substance use disorders is MDFT. MDFT offers both individual sessions with the adolescent themselves and parents, as well as family sessions to target several key areas imperative for sustained recovery, including family interaction, communication styles, and interaction with community resources (Wetchler & Hecker, 2015). Due to the mobile nature of this level of care, I have noticed that it provides practitioners the ability to not only see their primary client (adolescent) one-on-one,
