These lyrics explain honor was to be married and to have a husband. If you did just that you brought honor to the family and you were praised. In the movie, Mulan didn’t bring honor and it showed how disappointed she was.

Bringing honor meant a lot to women, but sometimes it enabled them to be themselves. Women in China didn’t have it easy, and it was even a worse feeling when you disappointed your elders.
In Conclusion, Mulan truly hits the main points of what a woman had to do and how to act. It shows that women were less superior, had to do all the housework, and to top it all off, make their family proud. I think all of this was greatly shown in the movie and that’s why I think Mulan is accurate in showing what a women was like in
