Muhammad Ali’s real name is Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. in January 17, 1942 he was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr. is his father and he was a painter and musician. Her mother is Odessa Lee Clay and she was a loving housewife to them. Muhammad’s younger brother is Rahman Ali his real name is Rudolph Valentino Clay who is also a former heavyweight boxer. Muhammad Ali has been married four times. His first wife, was Sonji Roi. In 1967 he married his second wife Belinda Boyd, who converted to Islam and changed her name to Khalilah Camacho-Ali after their wedding. Khalilah was a young bride and went on to bear him four children, but they got divorced. He married his third wife Veronica Porsche they had two daughters and eventually they got separated. Yolanda Williams was Muhammad’s last wife. All in all he had nice precious children and only one of them was in boxing career, and that is Laila Ali. In Muhammad’s …show more content…
People loved him because of his skills and incredible speed. He defeated a boxer from Poland and won the light heavyweight gold metal. He was proclaimed as an American hero. In 1963 he won British heavyweight champion by then 1964 he won over Sonny Liston and became the heavyweight champion of the world. Al decided to join the black Muslim group in 1964. Before he called himself Muhammad Ali he named his self “Cassius X”. Ali refused to help in Vietnam war because of his beliefs as Muslim he was then denied in boxing license and his passport was taken away. He was out in his boxing career for three years. After the courts decision at 1970 he was back in the ring and he had a fight called the “fight of the century” but then Frazier his opponent won. That was Ali’s first loss. He had also his second loss to Ken Norton. But then on 1974 he had a rematch to Frazier and he won on their fight. Ali fought with George Foreman and he reclaimed the heavyweight
