“And when I lived, I was your other wife, and when you loved, you were my other husband.” Hero and Claudio feel in love at first sight, but this made Don John nettled. Don John is in a realm of evil, he schemed up a plan that made Claudio believe Hero was treacherous, he announced these accusations at their first wedding and thought he killed Hero. Though Hero didn't really die, she is a matron, and she wasn't unfaithful. Leonato convenience Claudio to marry his niece which ended up being Hero and they lived happily ever after. In Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Hero serves as the foil character of Claudio by which Claudio's inconsiderate ways and forgiveness are illuminated through Heros honesty and forgiveness; thus, interminably influences the resolution in the plot.
Claudio and Hero have some asymmetry among them. In which Hero is honest because she had told the truth through the whole play. On the other hand, Claudio was inconsiderate for what he saw and wasn't true. They are at the wedding and claudio is accusing Hero of being unloyal. Hero and Claudio are at their second wedding and they forgive each other. The 4 ladies walk in with a mask on, Claudio is supposedly marrying Leonato's niece as he states, “then she's mine” she takes her mask off and it's relieved that Hero never died. (Shakespeare 230) Hero is talking and she says “but I do live” explaining how another Hero died but she lives and is willing to forgive Claudio and marry him. (Shakespeare 232) They both perceived forgiveness and were able to get married in the end. Ultimately, Hero and Claudio had to join together in their affinity to forgive one another for their mistakes and false accusations in order to have a happily ever
