Much Ado About Nothing Love Analysis

The play Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare is a simple yet intricate story about love. Love is such an elementary aspect of life; almost everyone has loved or has been loved. Everyone experiences it, yet it has a power strong enough to mould our entire being and possibly even change us forever. Beatrice, the niece of Leonato and the witty, ballsy cousin of Hero, has a very outgoing and talkative personality. She is self-assertive which has lead Beatrice to have an ongoing feud with Benedick: a lord who has recently returned home to Messina from war. The two are constantly trying to one up each other. The play suggests that this is due to the fact that Beatrice and Benedick had previously pursued each other, however the relationship ended badly. Everyone yearns to love and to be loved. Often the reason why we don 't allow ourselves to surrender to love is because we fear that it will make us weak and give the person whom we love the upper hand. However, love is a beautiful thing because in order for it to be true it must be mutual. Beatrice Realizes that Benedick has taken off his armour and in result she as well let’s herself be vulnerable. Most Stories use love at first sight to portray true love however this is a lie; Love is not about appearances at all.
