In the beginning, Benedick and Beatrice's similarities, such as being bull-headed and badger-ing, refusing to see one another's qualities. The two clearly have a thing against each other, but with just that and their shared obstinate, they were able to create a whole new part of the storyline. Both Benedick and Beatrice are tricked into thinking they are loved by each other, henceforth returning said love. This turns into eventual marriage between the two, utterly opposite of what was possibly suspected by the audience, concluding with dramatic irony. With the couples response to Don Pedros trick, they say “I’m burning up with shame! Could this be true? Do people really criticize me for being proud and scornful? …. I’ll be kind to you from now and on, and if you really do love me, that kindness will encourage you to seal our love with a wedding band.” from Beatrice, and “This can’t be a trick. They spoke with great seriousness, and they even have Hero’s testimony. …. She’s a beautiful lady. I think I sense some signs of loving her.” From Benedick.
