Basaltic lava has a low viscosity and that is why the lava flows more freely making it slow over a wide area. Lava caves can be formed when lava begins to harden. If we were to look closely to the lava that just came out of the volcano, you can tell when it is cooling and hardening. Lava trees can be created when lava flows around trees, which the burn leaving hollowed out regions in the lava according to their shape. By looking at the Lava trees you can tell how the forest used to be before the eruption, also it can tell the direction the lava flowed. Rain, wind and snow have been slowly causing erosion and creating valleys along its surface. The largest valley that has been created because of this is the Osawa Valley, this valley is directly below the summit on the west side of the mountain which began forming barely 1,000 years ago. The east side of the mountain has been almost always covered in ash due to eruptions over the years. And if we compare the ash on the east side to the ash on the west side, there is almost none on the west side. The birth of Mt. Close by the Mountain there is a lot of hotels that you can choose from. The price varies depending on what you like, the price is usually cheap, but you can go to some that will be very expensive.
