Ms. Soricelli Reflection

Improved Essays
Ever since my first year at Hatboro-Horsham High School, Ms. Soricelli has helped me become a better student. My freshman year I was mostly focused on having a great time, while my guidance counselor continued to stress the importance of grades. With every meeting, I became more and more comfortable with my future at Hatboro-Horsham and beyond. Ms. Soricelli helped me pick my classes according to my intended major, and this made me want to pursue my career choice even more. She allowed me to feel comfortable in my classes and always pushed me to achieve better. With Ms. Soricelli, I was happy to say she always responded to my emails as soon as needed, and was capable of setting up arrangements that accommodated me. I strongly believe that she puts her students beyond all else, she was even willing to stay late after school to meet with my mom and I. She helped my stressed mother become more comfortable with the college decision process. My mom felt drowned in the process and Ms. Soricelli broke it down to a simpler form for her to understand. Ms. Soricelli continued to help me with the SAT and ACT process and pushed me to try even harder at getting a better score. I constantly enjoyed having a counselor believe in me more than I believed in myself. I often came into her office and told her my grades or what needed to be …show more content…
She pushed me, accommodated me, and guided me towards my future. I hope to keep in contact with Ms. Soricelli, and tell her all about what she helped my career become. My major is in human services, and to me, she was everything that a human service requires. She was capable of not just helping me, but helping all students from (McF – Po). I bet most students are lost and confused until she steps in to make questions and concerns resolved. I thank Ms. Soricelli for all she has done for me, and all that she continues to do for

From the beginning of my freshman year, I had Mrs. Keehner for something, a large part of that would be, her being my advisor. During my freshman year, I took my first class with her during the second semester. The class was keyboarding, but I took so much more from that class than just getting a grasp upon how to type. She would occasionally show us videos of Dave Ramsey, who gave lesson over how to live your life financially. I found a great interest in these videos right from the start.…

The teacher at Ritenour that has influenced me the most is Mrs. Haar-Chapman or for short Mrs. HC. She influenced me the most, in my walk towards college. Before I began a strive for college, I wasn't sure I was cut out for the “college life”. She pushed me and my class as a whole to find a college and research about it, at first I thought it was a bit ridiculous, I won't deny it. She made us dive into researching about our future.…

    Ruth Ozeki Reflection

It was nice seeing the author of the book we read over this summer and discussed a lot about in class. It was my first time meeting the author of a book that I had read, and it was a cool experience. I enjoyed it because we were able to ask Ruth questions that we had in our mind while reading the book, and we were able to understand the process it took Ruth to complete “A tale for the Time Being”. Some themes that Ruth discussed in the event had to do with the characters she chose, the reason it took so long to complete it, structure, and the ending of the book Ruth Ozeki said that she didn’t have to sit down and think which characters to put in this novel, but rather the voices and the characters themselves came to her. In 2006, she heard the voice of Nao, but she didn’t know anything about her at first.…

In all of my time as a District 54 student, I was never more impacted by one individual than by Mrs. Michelle Burke. In eighth grade I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to enroll in the nearly brand new PLTW STEM class at Jane Addams Junior High. The class was spectacular for me, as I was formally studying a subject I had always wanted to learn more about. I was spellbound by the fact I was able to design an object on the computer, such as a holiday ornament or a toy car, and hold it in my hands after it had been 3D printed. I have always been enamored by the power to create, and the class let me take it one step further.…

My Path to Literacy For a very long time writing and reading was a huge struggle for me. I was one of those students who was very intelligent, but disliked reading tremendously and was often told, “You write the way you talk”. The older I grew the more I realized that my struggles with writing was due to my lack of reading. I was aware of my issues but because it became a part of my writing habits it was hard to adapt to anything different. I wanted to be like everyone else and be a good authentic and productive writer but it seemed almost impossible.…

For some students, choosing to attend college after high school is an easy decision. Some are expected by their families to continue into higher education post high school graduation. I know a few people that are so motivated to attend college that they already know for sure what they are going to major in before they were even freshmen in high school. For me, I was not falling into that category. College was something I did not consider throughout my time in high school.…

Waking up the morning of June 28th, 2016 I had no idea how this one simple day was going to change my life, and alter my personality for the better. I was born with arthritis in both of my jaw bones, affecting how my facial structure formed and the curve of my smile. It was never something myself or my family had noticed, until one visit in 2010 to a new nurse practitioner at my pediatrician. She innocently pointed out that my face was asymmetrical and one of my jaw bones was significantly smaller than the other, causing my smile to be at a great slant. This one comment caused a snowballing effect and next thing I knew I was visiting one of the best Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons in the country in Boston, Massachusetts, five hours from my hometown.…
