Ms. Rikki Miller Case

Improved Essays
GAO called Ms Rikki Miller informing her that I have done some research and spoke with the CW Case Manager and Supervisor to address the three concerns that she has:

Why does Ms Miller not have a caseworker like her husband has YUNKER, DWAYNE?

Why Ms Miller is not allowed to see her son Keaton?

Why Ms Miller was not interviewed, so she can be heard and have her point of view presented to the judge.

Ms Miller was informed that she does not have an ongoing CW case. So, the CW case worker YUNKER, DWAYNE is a CPS worker. She was informed that when she called the PD on 09/15/16 and Keaton was taken to the hospital, she requested to have him removed from her home permanently. Base on that request, her child, Keaton, was placed into his father’s home, Caleb Bennett, who is the first closest relative resource. Because it is a CPS case, the case worker is not representing any both of Keaton’s parents.

Ms Miller is not banned by DHS to see her son, this something that she needs to ask her husband or to request in the next custodial hearing. She was asked if she already has set up a court hearing, she said yes, it will happen on 12/09/16. Ms Miller was asked if she already has an attorney, she mentioned yes. She was suggested to work with her attorney regarding visitations as

Background In Maryland, Sandra Craig, was tried for several charges of sexual abuse involving a six-year-old child. Before the trial, the court wanted the Maryland statutory procedure obtained allowing a judge to receive, by one-way closed circuit television, the testimony of the alleged child abuse victim. Only after determining that the child's courtroom testimony would result in serious emotional distress that he or she could not reasonably communicate. If the procedure is invoked, the child, prosecutor, and defense counsel move to another room, where the child is examined and cross-examined; the judge, jury, and the defendant remain in the courtroom, where the testimony is displayed. Craig claimed that allowing the victim of the alleged…

Dr. Fiona’s claim that that the quarantine protocols for returning health workers are not justifiable is arbitrary. The health protocols regardless of the situation are very important especially for the health workers who must provide care for others. In case of Ms. Hichkox, since she was in-contact with patients suffering from a highly contagious virus such as Ebola, it was reasonable to follow a quarantine protocol initially. The fact that Ebola virus is only diagnosed after the development of symptoms and had no effective cure at the time, ignoring the possibility of Ms. Hickhox being infected was too great of risk to take for the health of public. Let’s assume for a minute that after the initial screening Ms. Hickhox was released but few…
