Abracadabra did not develop a healthy attachment to any of her caregivers. Physical and emotional safety is first experienced via a parent/caregiver, in the case of Ms. Abracadabra, she lacked the support from her parents/caregivers that would have provided her with a sense of belonging and security. Her childhood left her susceptible to an increased amount of stress. Ms. Abracadabra experienced overwhelming stress in her childhood through frequent moves, abusive caregivers, and exposure to both physical and sexual violence. This trauma ultimately impacted her ability to effectively communicate her feelings and needs. Ms. Abracadabra missed the support of a trusted parent/caregiver to help her regulate emotions, and as a result, has trouble controlling and expressing emotions. Ms. Abracadabra reported past behavior problems in school, including suspensions for fighting, arguing, and skipping classes, likely a result of her trauma
