A brief patient history, clinical assessment, diagnostic procedures with results and medical diagnosis is given for the case study. Ms. A is a 66-year-old female involved in a motor vehicle accident causing blunt trauma to the chest. She is admitted to the critical care unit post her accident in which she was the driver and stated that the weather caused the crash. The outcomes expected for Ms. A is explored as well as identifying the problems, learning needs, safety issues and interventions to monitor, prevent, manage and eliminate the risks identified is explored.
