Mrs. Wang from the short story “Old Demon” by Pearl S. Buck was an admirable character. (1) Firstly, she was brave and not afraid of anything. When everyone else was running for their lives, Mrs. Wang went to the plane to see what is was. She did not know what it was and what it could do, but still went to see it. When she was going towards the plane she was thinking, “At her age she need be afraid of nothing.” That shows that she was fearless. Secondly, she was kind and helped everyone that needed help. Despite the fact that the Japanese soldier was Mrs. Wang’s enemy. She helped him and tried to heal his wounds.
