I think a long-handled reacher can help Mrs. Spencer to get items from cabinets or off the floor to avoid bending and reaching. Meanwhile, she should rearrange her cupboards so that items that she uses most often are within easy reach. A reacher can also help her to put clothes on the lower part of her body.
Mrs. Spencer had hip problem. It will be difficult for her to get out of bed and walk to bathroom quickly when she needs for bathroom at night. It increases the chance of falling.
I think Mrs. Spencer should put portable bedside commode use with a bucket in her bedroom. It is safer for her than walking to the bathroom at night. She might trip and fall again if she walks to bathroom at night. Most importantly, she can make it to the beside commode in time. …show more content…
