It’s been surprisingly peaceful today. Normally, Mrs. Sorun’s Relationship Development I class is loud, obnoxious and overall chaotic place to be in, but today there is this sense of calmness around my personal space that I can’t quite put my finger on for why it’s there. I know I shouldn’t be complaining, I love myself some peace and quiet, but I can’t shake the fact that I’m uncomfortable with this current atmosphere.

“Hey Fatty…” When I turned and noticed she wasn’t in her usual spot, the imaginary lightbulb above my head shined so brightly it could’ve lighten up the whole underworld.
I wonder where she’s at today? Now that I’m really thinking about it, this is the first time I’ve been in class without Ariana this semester. Not as pleasurable as I had imagined when I used

Good question. She’s so annoying I trend to lose tract of her presence at times. “The last time I seen Ariana was on Monday and that was on Monday in American History.”
“Did she tell you anything?”
“If I recalled correctly, she didn’t speak to me during the whole class period. Probably because we were taking our final exam.”

I wonder what’s with the sudden change of attitude? “I didn’t do anything,” I began before rethinking that statement. “At least I don’t think I did.”

“I didn’t do anything.”
“What did you do?”

I became increasingly desperate to give someone I felt comfortable with a buzz as the evening wore on, and finally worked up some goddam courage to call Phoebe. I told you about her, you would’ve really liked her. She was somebody you always felt like talking to on the phone. As risky as it was, I had to give it a shot; my current state of behavior warranted enough reasoning. As soon as I heard the soothing, calm tone of her voice, I was able to immediately relax and breathe easily.…

Going through the sophomore hallway wasn’t really my preference at all, but I needed to avoid Sarah who was already trying to follow me. Knowing the most common place I would be in was near the vending machines by the lockers, I took a different direction to get past her. The next class I had was English Literature. Daniel and the others were on the other side of the school building so I wouldn’t be seeing any of them if I had decided to pass through the lower class hallways. I didn’t really know what else to be looking forward to the rest of the day, as it was coming to an end with two classes left.…
