I support the female's perspective rather than the male’s perspective, because I strongly believe that abortion should not be an option and that everyone should be given the opportunity to live. The song in general sparks a fuse about the possible scenarios my mom could've gone through when she was expecting me. Listening to this song leaves me thankful that my mother decided to keep me, just as the female speaker decided to do. Abortion is not a topic you hear about often, the song “Lost Ones” shows how the sense of fear from both, the young boy and the young girl who have just found out a baby is on the way induces them to make a decision that could change their life forever. It shows how the young couple face a challenge but lastly have hope that everything will go fine.…

Misogynistic lines such as, ‘Slut, you think I wont choke no whore til the vocal chords don’t work in her throat no more?’, conveys that a women’s voice has no significance in society and should be silenced with force. These lyrics employ misogyny to legitimize domestic violence and highlight that women should be compliant and domesticated by men. Women feel disempowered by the song as it creates an ‘ideology that reduces women to objects for men’s ownership, use or abuse.’ (Cundiff, 2013). Overall the song interprets the negative notion of a man’s suppressive and hostile actions towards a…

“Mrs. Potato Head” by Melanie Martinez is about unrealistic body standards and how many girls feel insecure because they do not look like other conventionally attractive people. This particular song talks about plastic surgery and how even though one may feel insecure, it might not be worth getting surgery because there is always the chance that you will regret it afterward. Melanie Martinez has always been someone I admired because of she often speaks of difficult topics in her songs. “Mrs. Potato Head” was released during a point in my life where I was not comfortable in my own body. I felt that I was unattractive because I did not look like most other girls that I went to school with.…

This song talks about the speaker who is abused by her boyfriend but she stands by him because she loves him. This is similar to when we find out that Mayella was abused by her father but still loves him because well, it’s her father. They both show unhealthy relationships and how bad things can be at home. The mood in both of this song and the book is desperate. They are both desperate for love and will do anything to stay by their family/man.…

__I think the meaning of the song that Beyoncé wrote is describing pain and what females have to go to or young teens go through, trying to impress the world, and society. How that all what we do don’t mean anything or how we present ourselves maybe we aren’t too happy on the inside maybe everything isn’t all that’s well. I like the song genre because it really feels like music for our souls trying to heal it also. The new generation now we teenagers are affected by this particular song. I think the most powerful lyrics of the song is “pretty Hurts”, because that is the pain of the song the ultimate feelings that’s what she’s trying to get the audience to understand.…

The songwriter crafted this song in such a way, that the person who is listening to the song is involuntary narrating these lyrics. The narrator in this song is none other than yourself. The songwriter makes you the narrator of the song, so that only you-yourself can make a change. ‘I see the kids in the street, with not enough to eat, who am I , to be blind pretending not to see their needs’- the narration of this song shows you the sad things that happen using your own eyes.
