Mrs. Kennedy & Me is authored by Clint Hill. Mr. Clint Hill is a secret service member and has just been assigned to the First lady detail of the upcoming Kennedy Presidential term of 1961. This book gives you an in depth, up close and very personal view into how the secret service prepares and works. The President, his wife and children are all on round the clock surveillance and through this book I have better understand and knowledge of just how exciting a President’s life can be. Clint Hill was in his late twenties and noted a good looking man. He previously served on the Eisenhower detail alongside the president. He was very reluctant however while receiving his new orders, which would turn out to be head service member in charge of the first lady. He expresses his concerns and even dismay when finding out his new orders, comparing his job to head babysitter and …show more content…
Clint was surprised with her need for privacy and persistence in living a normal life. She enjoyed shopping for antiques, horseback riding and playing tennis. Her children and husband were everything to her and she was described as a great wife and caring mother. President John Kennedy was a very busy man and travelled often. Jaqueline and Clint grew to trust each after spending everyday together. Mrs. Kennedy was doing her best at adjusting to the title of First Lady and found comfort in Clint and his available advice from previous details. Clint and Jaqueline’s friendship grew and he spoke of the first lady the highest of lights. She trusted him and he trusted her. Their innocent fun brought smiles to my face and their personalities jump off the pages. Clint was by Mrs. Kennedy’s side for the highs and even the lows. He went on trips overseas with Mrs. Kennedy and even to the ballets. Mr. Hill was there for the birth of her son Jack and even later miscarriages. Mr. Clint Hill proved to be the solid rock in Mrs. Kennedy’s face-paced
