Mrs Hawley Again Essay

I wish I could see Mrs. Hawley again! She was my 3rd grade teacher when I attended Mary Bethune Elementary. I know that was a very long time ago from now, but she was by far one of my favorite teachers. I last saw her when I was in the 7th grade because I didn’t graduate from 8th grade at Mary Bethune. I first left Mary Bethune after 4th grade because I was recommended to go to Wade Park Elementary and take honors courses. I returned to Mary Bethune after 6th grade. It was awkward seeing all of my old classmates who I hadn’t seen in three years. I was taken by a surprise when Mrs.Hawley still worked there. I talked about her so much when I was there, that my siblings would just pray that they had her as a teacher. There I was in 7th grade still attached to my 3rd grade teacher. She had that effect on people. It was long ago, but I still remember parts of being in the 3rd grade. It’s weird; it’s like thinking of someone else because I was a child then. Like most third grade teachers, Mrs. Hawley would give the class timed multiplication tests. I would always be the first student finished. She gave me …show more content…
If I bumped into her one day, I wonder if she would remember me. I would tell her that I moved with my dad last year. I would tell her how my grandma lost her house and that’s why I didn’t graduate 8th grade from Mary Bethune. She has two daughters and one son. I would ask them how life was going. Her son was about 3 years old the last time I saw him. He’s probably all grown up now (maybe 12). If I had the opportunity to rekindle our relationship, I would take it. Initially it would be awkward, but eventually it would feel like those old days when I was younger except I’m an adult now. Mrs. Hawley always looked so young in appearance. She always said she was in her 40’s when I last saw her, but I’d always say “no, you’re 25.” We had that kind of bond. I believe that we would still be close today if we had never lost

The teacher at Ritenour that has influenced me the most is Mrs. Haar-Chapman or for short Mrs. HC. She influenced me the most, in my walk towards college. Before I began a strive for college, I wasn't sure I was cut out for the “college life”. She pushed me and my class as a whole to find a college and research about it, at first I thought it was a bit ridiculous, I won't deny it. She made us dive into researching about our future.…

As a nine-year-old, I anticipated three days of the year: my birthday, Christmas, and the Scholastic Book Fair. Year after year, upon seeing the flimsy, cartoon-adorned catalog land on my desk displaying the date of the upcoming event, I did a mental (and, probably physical) happy dance. My mom’s checkbook could never keep up with my eager circling, highlighting, and squealing over every series, classic, and upcoming release. I remember 2007 especially well, that’s because of Andrew Clements.…

Chris Colfer has often been ostracised for being different and encourages others with the words, “there is nothing wrong with you. There is a lot wrong with the world you live in.” The people of America have many differences-- differences that should be celebrated but often are made to be seen as negative. Those who feel entitled --the rich and the majority-- belittle others making them feel like they are wrong for being unique. Due to the loud self entitled, society has been conditioned to see people as less, and those who are deemed to be less are taught to believe that they are wrong, broken, and all because of something that cannot be controlled.…

I went from an exceptional student to one who talks back. Since freshman year Mrs. R had been my favorite teacher, even though I did not have her until I was a junior. She was kind and always there if you needed to take a breather in her class, or simply do whatever you needed to on the computer, if it was your lunch. I've heard students complain about how they did not like her and how annoying she was. However, I couldn't understand why they felt that way about Mrs. R. I never saw her the way they did.…

Messages from Victorian Schools An Analysis of the Messages about Schools from Hard Times and Jane Eyre “You will be never more than someone who flips burgers!” Sometimes, very rarely, teachers may tell this to their students. Whether it be that the teacher may feel that that student be stupid, or maybe that teacher doesn’t like that student for a reason. Although it is very highly unlikely for this incident to occur in today’s society, this occurred all the time in Victorian schools. It has been noted that Victorian teachers at this time were; dull, strict, and mean.…
