Mrs. Dyer Case Study

Mrs. Dyer is a 30 year old female who presented to the ED with thoughts of self harm with a specific plan to use bleach in a needle to kill herself. She expresses since her boyfriends brother has started to live with them since last week his behavior has changed. Mrs. Dyer reports relational conflict with her boyfriend being verbally abusive and his recent use of meth as the contributing factors to her current distress. Mrs. Dyer reports depressive symptoms as: feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, anhedonia, irritability, isolation, tearfulness, and insomnia. She denies homicidal ideations and symptoms of psychosis.

During the time of the assessment Mrs. Dyer was found asleep, however became oriented by her named being called. Mrs. Dyer
