At 5:30 AM, the young, naive, Jenny Drpich is all dressed up finally ready to leave her home and head to her job for the first time. On her way, she grabbed a copy of West Australian newspaper, a leftover of cinnamon bun from last night and a freshly brewed cup of Long Black Arabica. Demonstrating patience is one of the most challenging aspects of the steadiness category that I must improve upon to broaden my adaptability. With such a high dominance trait, my desire for immediate results often supersedes any patience needed in a given situation. Since opposites attract, my wife’s personality is much different than mine and many of my memories about disagreements we’ve had include the pressure I put on her to hurry up and get something done. If I can improve this area, perhaps some of those disagreements wouldn’t occur.…

Trait theorists focus on the measurement of traits and believe that to better understand personality we should focus on an individual’s traits and characteristic behaviour(Saul Kassin,; 2003). Using the five-factor model of personality, trait theorists can develop different kinds of questionnaires, such as the NEO Personality Inventory, to measure a person’s personality traits (Costa, P.T. Jr. and McCrae, R.R, 1992). With this data, researchers can describe a person’s personality using the 5 global factors of the five-factor model. The five-factor model helps trait theorists identify characteristics that individuals possess and to the extent of which they are present (Matthews, Gerald; Deary, Ian J.; Whiteman, Martha C, 2003).
