There are many reasons how Mrs. Fisher’s choices and the consequences of these choices have altered the growth of the main character. Withal, Mrs. Fisher didn’t listen to him all of the time. In fact, she didn’t listen to Paul when there was Paul when he told them about the mailbox issue with his brother, Erik. This event later happened in the novel. In addition, in the text it states, “I followed slowly, angry at mom for calling attention to my eyesight. She wanted a tour of the place because she’s nosy and want to see everything for herself” (Pg. 25, Para. 5). This shows that Mrs. Fisher didn’t listen to Paul about his eyesight because she was nosy which later caused the IEP form which caused Paul to later be kicked off the soccer team.
Finally, Mrs. Fisher lied to Paul. For example, she lied to Paul about his sight. Also she lied to Paul about Erik. In the text it states, “And I remember Erik’s fingers prying my eyelids open while Vincent Castor sprayed white paint into them” (Pg. 263;264, Para. 10;1).
In conclusion, Paul (the main character) has progressed rapidly thanks to Mrs. Fisher, his mother. Just by filling out a form she affected the development her son, the main character.
