Mrs. Bennet In Pride And Prejudice Analysis

Compare and Contrast Elizabeth Bennet with Mrs. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is a novel that is centered on the Bennet family and explores their relationships. I would like to talk about two characters of the Bennet family. These characters are Elizabeth Bennet and Mrs. Bennet. Elizabeth Bennet is one of the most well known female characters in English Literature. She is the protagonist of Pride and Prejudice and she is the second daughter of the Bennet family. Her mother, Mrs. Bennet, is one of the most important minor characters in this novel and she has five daughters. Although Mrs. Bennet is the mother of Elizabeth, both of them have nearly different characters. They have lots of differences but they have just slightly similarities. Although she lives some problems with Mr. Darcy, they overcome these problems and they get married. I like this and also I like her behavior toward people and to be sharp-tongued. If I refer to my opinions about Mrs. Bennet, I think contrast to describe in the novel. I think Mrs. Bennet cares her daughters. She is not an ignorant or foolish character but she is responsible and realistic one. That is shown in the famous first line of the novel. She said that “If I can but see one of my daughters happily settled at Netherfield,….. and all the other equally well married, I shall have nothing to wish for.” Many Pride and Prejudice analysis describe Mrs. Bennet’s character as a foolish, ignorant or stupid.
