Being a Shady Grove Cardinal for five years has taught me valuable lessons. These lessons are not only about academics, but about guidance, character traits, and citizenship. The lessons will help me in the near future, and I cherish them. Mrs. Askins, the guidance teacher, comes to our class every month and helps us develop our personal and social skills. She taught me how to manage my anger and my time. For example, I used to procrastinate with my homework, but she taught me how to finish my work and have time for extracurricular activities. One of her most important lessons was about peer pressure. It is so easy to fall to peer pressure. If it wasn’t for her, I am sure most Cardinals would be influenced by the bad in the world.
