Mr. S. V: Eulogy For Friend

Improved Essays
Mr. S.V,

You don't know me nor should you. I am contacting you with conflicting emotions. You and another gentleman P.L. were described as "my closest and probably best friends I've ever had". I feel obligated to pass this limited information to you. Your friend M.R ("DR" to us) has suffered a severe concussion, multiple broken ribs, and possible internal bleeding. Being the team lead I have accompanied him for treatment and observation in country. I will also accompany him stateside where he will be seen again.
Your friend is one of the most courageous and over the top men I've ever had the privilege of working beside. He exemplifies the motto bestowed upon him, "First There... That Others May Live" His memory is and probably will be fragmented

From an early age Dee fantasied of living a different life, she wanted more than what her mother could offer her. I believe this is why she denied her family because by denying her family she could deny her family history. I ponder if Dee wanted the quilt and the carved dasher to go with her new found facade, so she could brag that she inherit it from her ancestors.…

When I was only ten years old, I told my mother I wanted to be a funeral director and/or embalmer when I got older. Thirteen years later, I am still saying that same phrase, but only this time it is hitting a little closer to home. I have been waiting 4,745 days to finally be able to say that I am only one year away from achieving that long term goal of mine and I could not be more excited. Although I knew exactly what I wanted to do at such young age, I did not apply to mortuary science school straight out of high school like I could have. After I received my academic honors diploma from high school, I attended Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame.…

I tried on several occasions to write a eulogy for my mother. If I had made the effort by hand, all that you would have seen would have been an enormous pile of paper balls tossed in and around the trash basket. I simply could not come up with the right words for the occasion. My thoughts and feelings about her passing were just too difficult to express publicly. Of course, I could relate any number of events in my life that were touched by my mother.…
