Three more periods, just three more periods. Right now I’m outside watching seventh grade kids run around like maniacs, starting to not like them, and wishing that I was at home. Wow, I’m even starting to sound like Mr. Quinlan. “Now I understand why he buries his head into crossword puzzles half of the day, ” I tell myself. At least one thing has gone wrong every period. First period it was the chair missing a wheel, second period a kid stole half of Mr. Quinlan’s candy, and last period was just really bad. So what happened last period you may ask? There are not many professors at the community college level, if any, but Mr. Robbin had the distinguished look of one with his tweed jacket and the patches on his elbows of his sleeves. Personal Narrative rough draft : Car accident It was early in April of 2016, sunny and beautiful, the day was sure to be full of excitement and energy as student council speeches are due and the final trimester of the year was slowly coming to an end. I woke up that morning to my mother blissfully waking me up with my light turning on and her sweet beautiful voice saying “Wake up, Joey,” I slowly rolled out of bed and stumbled into the shower trying hopelessly to escape the morning and the horrible sensations of waking up early on a Wednesday. As the warm water rushed over me I rehearsed in my head how I would present my student council speech to my teacher. Little did I know how different it would actually be that day.…

John Jay School for Law is nestled on Seventh Ave, in the Park Slope neighbourhood. Through the heavy double doors the scanning machines sit, eagerly awaiting one’s approach as they gobble up your bags and other items, illuminating all the contents to the school safety officer before excreting them out the other end. Up the clammy steps to the second floor where all the classes cynically open their doors and suck you in. Forty minutes you sit, seated on the hard, coloured chairs behind trash filled desks, engaged in activities which aid in the improvement of your intellectual wellness. The time slugs by, as your pen is introduced to paper and your thoughts begin to walk; across the pages or out in the hall was.…

Joining a militia was one of the top things I never thought I’d do, and becoming Special Forces in that militia never made the list. Just when I thought I’d finally fallen asleep. The blazing light that fought to turn the milky white of my eyes to a black crispy crime.
