The special bond formed between a student and a teacher is one that will last a life time. The impact’s of this bond not only benefit the student in the moment, but shape their future in a healthy way. A teachers main goal is to use their power to structure students beliefs and influence their opinions on future careers. Throughout high school, I constantly kept this thought in the back of my mind. It wasn't until my sophomore year when I was finally given the opportunity to connect so closely with one of my teachers. My sophomore year English teacher Mrs Pulverenti, not only helped to shape me into the person I am today, but inspired my love for teaching. She brought out the best in me through her love for teaching and I am determined to share …show more content…
Pulverenti are positive. She is such a giving person who’s door is always open if you need someone to talk to. I had a rough three years of high school because I was struggling with chronic migraines. In total, I missed two-hundred and four days of high school and I can honestly say if I didn't have Mrs. Pulverenti by my side, I don’t know where I would've ended up today. She was my advocate for the three years that I knew her and she always helped to point me in the right direction. For the one year when I wasn’t receiving answers from the school board or the hospital about my condition, it was like pure torture. But, once I met Mrs. Pulverenti and she helped me get my life back on track, I promised myself that I would never allow a child to suffer the way that I did in school. No child should ever feel alone nor told they can’t do something because of their condition. From the moment Mrs. Pulverenti told me I could beat the odds and graduate regardless of what anybody else thought, I was truly inspired to become a teacher. She made such a positive impact on me to keep going, that I am now determined to keep her tradition of having faith in students alive. I want to be a teacher so I can make a positive impact in a child’s life exactly the way she did with mine. Regardless of the number of teachers found in the education system, it means nothing if the student to teacher bonds aren’t being formed. Teachers have

Most people imagine a teacher as someone who is in their late 30’s or older teaching in a classroom. Many lessons are taught in the classroom, but many more lessons are taught outside of the classroom. My cousin Keisha and her daughter, KaLeiah, have been the greatest teachers I ever have had in my life. KaLeiah is a three-year old, a tall, lean, energetic little girl with beautiful light brown skin, just like her mother. She has dark black afro hair, and mix of shades of brown eyes, which has filled me with the will to open my heart and mind to the world.…

I anxiously looked out the window at the familiar sites: cows grazing, tractors roaring, and palmetto bushes gently swaying in the summer breeze. Then, the classroom door squeaked. A statuesque woman walked in, Mrs. Able, our new teacher. This semester, I have learned plenty of concepts and material that have shaped my teaching methods. Our class has helped to develop a strong curriculum, but also, to understand the needs and reality of every student. Also, the lectures, reading, guest professors and our visits to DCP have helped to understand why I want to be a teacher. I have learned and realized that as a future teacher, I am not going to be able to take care or help every single student, but I will do my best to assist them as much as I can. For instance, Professor Julia Gonzalez mentioned that in the first couple of years, teachers take too much responsibility and as a result, they burn out in less than four years.…

In the Funds of Knowledge for Teaching paper it states that typically teacher student relationships are thin and single stranded (Moll, Amanti, Neff, Gonzalez, page 134). I think this is so true. There were so many teachers throughout my k-12 years that I did not have a good close relationship with and I tended to not do as well in those classes. However, on the flip side there were many teachers who I could tell really cared me and I felt much more comfortable with them and tended to succeed in their classes. Another thing that I think will be my responsibility as a teacher is to be able to answer my kids when they say “when are we ever going to use this in life.”…

Education has been around since the beginning of civilization, however education was not created from the mind of man: it was embedded inside each and every one of us from the moment of birth. Humans naturally find themselves wanting to learn and wanting to teach others. Simply observe kids with their parents: the child is eager to learn how to be like the parents and the parents are more than happy to teach the kid. Go to a playground and witness one kid teach another how to climb on the monkey bars or how not to climb on the monkey bars. The curiosity to learn and the enthusiasm to teach will never fall from humanity; we will always naturally be curious and ready to share.…
