Mr Marth Observation

District Administrator:

I have witnessed some amazing things from Mr. Marth during the Fall semester of 2015.
I feel that a traditional one-page letter of recommendation does not truly explain his exceptional qualities as an educator. Mr. Marth has proven himself to be not only an outstanding educator, but also strong contributor of ideas and strategies in the Social Studies Department at Civic Memorial High School. Without a doubt, I can give Blake the title of best and by far most committed and effective student teacher I have ever had the pleasure of working with in my twelve years at the Bethalto Community School District. Here are some of my observations of Mr. Marth as to why I feel this strongly about his ability as an educator.

The first major observation I made regarding Mr. Marth is his strong commitment and exemplary work ethic. In addition to student teaching, Blake also continued working at Bethalto Schnucks and the Bethalto Regional Airport. In addition to these responsibilities, Blake is a respected and active member of Bethalto Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. I was first impressed when

Marth is his outstanding relationship with colleagues and his strong contributions to our school and especially our Social Studies department. He has received recognition for two of his “bright ideas”, one from me and one from our co-teacher, Mrs. Hill. He has had an active voice in IEP meetings, classroom RTI meetings, department meetings and after school clubs. He even made it a point to attend football games to show support for the football team, color guard and band. One week, Mr. Marth brought in his violin to play music with several students after school, many of which he did not have in class. His ability to reach difficult students and work with our faculty has been exceptional. Mr. Marth has been a major asset to our students and positive school environment and will truly be remembered and missed by all who know

It is a great pleasure to recommend Rachel Sitasz for admission to the Edward Hospital Student Volunteer Program. She is one of the most empathetic, kind, and exceptional humans I have encountered in my 14 years of teaching. I teach Rachel in my 8th grade advanced ELA class. Her academics, character, innate curiosity, intrinsic motivation, ethical standards, and unwavering desire to give back, have put Rachel in a class of her own. In fact, for the first time in over 25+ years, the eighth-grade team created a brand new end-of-the-year award for our graduation awards assembly.…

Over this past summer, I had the pleasure of meeting a very admirable person. Dr. Stuart Chapman Hill was one of my choral instructors at Governor's School, and his leadership style has had a very huge impact on me. First of all, let me start off by saying that this man is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet should you get the chance to. Right away, I instantly felt like I’d known him for years, even though I’d only been around him for a few seconds. Dr. Hill has a very accepting attitude; he doesn’t make assumptions about a person.…

One day she came up with a bright idea and told her students, “You were chosen to be in my class because I am the best teacher and you are the best students.” Pierson, who came from a background of parents who were educators, knew how to inspire and inject enthusiasm, and, most importantly, try to build a relationship with her students. It was not easy; some of these kids were frequently absent and had negative attitudes, but it just took one action to make a reaction. If instead of cheating, Lewis had decided to use his capabilities to encourage his students to work on their grades, now he would be a hero instead of a cheater, and not only for his current students but also for the incoming generation as well.…
