After getting home and getting out of the car, I felt so worn out that sickness was inevitable. Keeping my eyelids open was going to be a challenge, especially seeing that Ana was now invited over and she would be a bundle of energy until the latest possible time.
Yawning, I opened the door. I almost didn 't want Ana over so I could catch up on resting... for the first time in a week.
"Flower, do you think that you are too tired for tonight?" asked my father, carefully folding up his green scarf to put it back on its glass display. "I could call your visit with Ana off, if that is what you think is best, you know."
"I 'm fine," I answered. "I just need to relax. And as for the exhaustion, it 's nothing …show more content…
Knock! Knock! ' we heard from the front door. Well, it looked like there wasn 't going to be any time at all for caffeine.
"I 'll get the door!" answered my father, running up and doing so.
"Sallo, there!" said Anastasia, standing there with a grin on her face.
"...how did you get here so quickly?" asked my father.
"Oh, I was already here for a half hour. When I saw your car pull up I decided to hide. But here I am now! Tada!"
I facepalmed. My father 's expression because thoroughly confused. "I see..." he answered. "...but it doesn 't matter how you came here, you 're here now..."
"Sure thing!" she chirped, full of energy. Ana walked in and gave a rather youthful, "Wow!" being as vocal as possible. "I 've never been inside this place, it 's huge! I mean, not as big as my home, but my house just feels like a funeral place, this place is actually a house!"
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Sallo there, Ana."
"Sylvia!" she answered, running over and throwing her arms around my neck almost so fast that we both fell over.
"Ana, don 't knock me over," I warned while hugging back. "I 'm really not in the mood for head trauma, and I doubt you are either."
"I don 't really care," she admitted. "How are you?"
"I 'm not that bad. How are you? How 's Perrin …show more content…
"I don 't really want to watch it for a while... one of the characters reminds me too much of Tod..."
"I see... I 'm sorry..." she apologized. "But... if it 's okay, which character are you thinking of...?"
"Kristofferson," I replied. "But that 's off-subject. How about 'Over the Garden Wall '? Oh! How about 'Song of the Sea '?"
"Hm... I haven 't ever seen either of those before... but... do we have to watch a movie? I mean," she explained, "Your dad thinks we 're in here to watch a movie, and so if we turn on some music or something we can chat about things and he 'd never know."
"...or we could just tell him that we were going to talk?" I suggested.
"Nah, that 's not sneaky enough. Besides, he may not want us to be talking a whole bunch, knowing how many things are going on in your life."
I sighed, rolling my eyes. "He invited you over so we could relax and talk, and frankly enough, I doubt that being 'sneaky ' will get us anywhere good. I 'm only being honest, if that 's okay with you. However, I 'll do it anyway."
She smiled, connecting her iPod to the sound system turning on some pop song.
