The case of Mr. Ketterman sounds to very complicated and needs compressive team work cooperation. The team work includes the physician, nurses, caregivers, psychologists, occupational therapist, and physical therapist where each does his role in maintaining Mr. Ketterman’s condition. The physical therapist are supposed to look thus condition from different dimensions as: the physical status (muscle strength, joint ROM, flexibility), the mental and psychological status, and the functional level. In addition, therapist should consider the adverse effects of the treating the other medical conditions. Searching strategy was based in finding any related studies published between September 2009 and March 2010 in multi databases as PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Web of Science (ISI), and Psychinfo. An including criteria was limited to limit focus more in only the related studies and it included only the studies for those with dementia due to any etiology, over 75, studies with contains outcome measures related to (mobility, balance, lower extremity strength, and ADL performance), and the studies which were written in (English, Danish, German) languages. The study selection was done by two reviewers. The study’s’ methodology was scored by the similar reviewer by using Downs and Black (DB) validity and reliability checklist (Downs SH & Black N, 1998). This checklist contains 27 questions related to 4 domains: reporting, external validity, internal validity – bias, and internal validity – confounding. The higher score indicate higher quality of the study’s methodology. In addition, the study’s quality list of Sackett DL, Straus SE, and Richardson WS (2002) and scores the studies from 1-5 was used.
