Mr. Jacks: A Narrative Fiction

“Where are you going?” he cried out as I went farther away. I searched the ground, looking for something we could use. It’s not like I could find a mirror just lying around. I rushed, trying to find it before more robots came, before the grenades went off. Then, there it was; a piece of broken window on the ground. I quickly grabbed it and ran back to my teacher. Mr. Jacks looked relieved when he saw me coming. I shoved the glass into the force field and the gap was made. “You go first, Kate.” Mr. Jacks urged.
“No! Just go!” I yelled. This place was about to blow any second now. He ran in and I followed. Just as the force field blocked us from the outside, a blast sounded in the distance and I could feel the heat as everything exploded. A few minutes went by and nothing happed. I thought maybe 302 was unsuccessful, but then suddenly the force field disappeared. The war zone place was gone. No more burning buildings, or any explosion aftermath; just the normal city, with buildings intact and cars lined along the street. It seemed like nothing ever happened that December 21. If it wasn’t for Mr. Jacks still next to me, I would have thought it was just a dream.

Jacks took a deep breath of fresh air.
“It’s like nothing happened.” I looked off into the distance.
“It did happen.” Mr. Jacks smiled, “looks like 302 did right the wrong.” He paused, looked at the setting sun, taking it all in, “Let’s go home.”
“Yeah, sounds great.” That was my first moment of listening to someone besides myself. And it felt great. 2 years

Jack the Ripper: the Monster of White Chapel, by playwright Joe Dickinson. This play was honestly like nothing I’ve ever seen before. There were so many great elements to the show, the humor, audience interaction, props and just full of character to name a few. I had the pleasure of viewing this piece with several apparent regulars to the Pocket Sandwich Theatre off of East Mockingbird, Dallas Tx, on 10/15/15.…

What defines a leader? Is it someone who stands out within a crowd? Is it a person with the ability to lead? Is it someone who goes above and beyond to provide leadership? William Golding’s character, Jack Merridew, from the novel Lord of the Flies, would use none of these definitions to define a leader.…

To further support the movie, Jack the Giant Slayer as a heroic story, there is another part of how the film gives the hints to complete Jack into a hero. The evil character and future Isabelle’s husband, Roderick, holds the legendary golden crown secretly from the beginning part of the film, which he will use in his conspiracy of taking over the Kingdom with the Giants. The connection between Roderick and the crown appeared as an obstacle on Jack’s journey, which makes it the journey harder. For example, Roderick takes out the crown when he is in trouble and barely survives the evil giant. At this part, it doesn’t show clear images of how he survives, but Roderick attempts to find the crown in his bag, and the camera uses close-up angle, and…

It was cold and ordinary evening on March 5, 1770, when I was walking down King street with my friend Henry. As were walking past the Custom House a young wig maker's apprentice walked up to a British soldier and insulted him because he had not payed for a wig. Another British soldier had walked out and scolded the young boy for disrespecting a British soldier. The boy exchanged insults with the soldier so he pulled out his musket and struck the boy on the side of the head. A stream of chills rushed through my body when I witnessed that.…

Case Study-Jack • Do you think that Jack’s current unwillingness to become vulnerable to others out of his fear of “being dependent on them and trapped by their love” has much to do with his mother’s unconditional love?
