Mr Christian Williams Monologue

Improved Essays
I was once a humble high school freshman, meek and unsuspicious. However, I was not aware: I was being watched. And when my audience approached me, my life would be forever changed. Spencer Christian Williams: a name I had heard before, but a face I could not put my finger on. He was a friend of a classmate that I joked around with in gym class: Logan. He had told me about Spencer’s make-out session with Bri Joy, the witty jokes he made, and their antics in other classes. I never asked deeper questions about this boy until his brother came up to me at lunch. “Spencer’s looking for you.” He murmured, passing me, offering no explanation. My confusion and astonishment were inferable. Never had I met this person in my life; I had never uttered …show more content…
“Spencer likes you!” Blurted an obnoxious Indigo, sporting a mocking grin on her face, “he was looking for you at lunch because he thinks you’re hot.” Again, I voiced my confusion. I asked why the hell this boy that I have never even seen in my entire life was searching for me, and was, apparently, lusting after me. She responded to this with a shrug, and went back to her desk. Later that night, I messaged Spencer’s brother to ask what his problem was. However, unbeknownst to me, Spencer was reading these messages, which were voicing my confusion, distaste, and upset over his desperation to talk to me. When I found out that he knew what I was saying, I immediately took action to correct the situation. “*Whispers*,” I texted him, “Indigo didn’t actually tell me you liked me, so don’t worry. I don’t think you’re a …show more content…
Spencer and I talked for hours, about everything imaginable: previous relationships, our childhoods, and our favorite things. This was the day I knew he and I had something special.
We decided to sit down on a bench, and I mimicked the position our legs had been in at the movies; I put my legs over his lap and leaned back against the armrest. We sat for hours, talking and laughing.
We peered into each other’s eye for a long moment, and everything in me longed to lean into him. I knew he had the same feeling. Although before our lips could actualize our one wish, my sister pulled up in front of us, yelling for me to get into the car. Reluctantly, I told him I would see him tomorrow, and left him with a lingering hug.
He asked me out the following day, exactly as I predicted he would. He skipped his first period to join Logan and I for gym, and managed to stutter it out.
“Really?” Was his reply when I said yes, “Are you sure?”
“Yes I’m sure,” I laughed.
Later that same period, he and I had our first kiss during a game of truth or dare. I knew what he was intending to say when I chose dare, and that is precisely why I chose it. A corny peck was all I was given; nonetheless, I was smiling from ear to

Joseph Pulitzer believed that for a piece of writing to be effective the selection had to follow four main principles to present the story; briefly, clearly, picturesquely and accurately. Reconstructing Amelia, the first novel by Kimberly McCreight , utilized these principles quite effectively in the development of the novel as a whole. The novel focuses in on the life of Kate Baron whose daughter, Amelia, supposedly committed suicide the previous month. McCreight takes the reader through Amelia’s final days alive as well as Kate’s journey to find the truth of her daughter's death. Her use of characters that originally present as flat character but developed into dynamic ones shows that there were no unused elements in the novel and as the story…

Well, a man is a man, and I wouldn't be if I hadn't, you're right," Duke replied with a teasing smirk, almost confusing himself in the process as he struggled to find an appropriate retort. Saying something was better than nothing at all, which was sometimes how he found himself around the woman; almost speechless; especially when she returned his banter with more force than what he'd issued it. That was a occurence the man definitely wasn't used to. Most other women would simply roll their eyes, huff in annoyance, or giggle like immature schoolchildren, caught off guard and flattered by his attentions. Not this one,…
