Ian Minor: A Career As A Manager

Many people wonder what a good boss is supposed to do. Nowadays, there are many types of managers in any type of job, demanding, indolent, inconsiderate, energetic, sympathetic, and so much more kinds of bosses. In my opinion, qualified leaders are those who care about their staff and treat them with respect. My current boss, Ian Minor, has multiple qualities that meet the requirements to be an excellent leader. Ian is currently a manager partner at Longhorn Steakhouse. Previously, Ian started working for this company as a host, back in his early twenties, and working his way up to where he is now. He went from a host position to a server position, from a server position to a manager position, and consequently until he became a manager partner. His most important characteristics are; staff treatment, knowledge of procedures, and sense of humor. …show more content…
I can joke around, enjoyed my shift, and at the same time get paid. Ian has a great sense of humor when it comes to joke around. Having a leader with a great sense of humor is dreadfully awesome because makes people want to work and not hate their shifts. The relationship between a leader and staff should be friendly in order to attain better results. As a manager Ian always manages the way to involve every single co-worker in conversations. He is extremely open-minded; therefore, it is pleasant to establish a conversation with him. For example, whenever I talk to him about my personal problems, he wisely listen my concerns and puts himself in a different mind-set since we differ obviously in age. In my opinion, this is a marvelous characteristic of an awesome leader. A great leader is defined by various qualities. My definition of great leaders consists in the way they treat their staff, knowledge of solutions for different scenarios, and their sense of humor.
