The Clue
It was an unseemingly cold and dark night in 1991, and I was getting ready to leave the night shift, like usual. It was about midnight, when I got a call from Mrs. White, an old friend of mine.
"Mr. Boddy has been murdered! There's blood everywh-", she exclaimed in a shaky voice.
" Calm down", I said, "Now what happened?"
Mr. Boddy has been and.. And he's surrounded by a pool of blood!", she said barely getting the words out from her panicked voice.
"I'll be there in in a couple of minutes", I replied, " I'll call the police for you as well". Just then a moment of silence happened, anticipating more words to be said, but she just hung up the phone. I walked slowly and made my way towards my car and called the police. When I got there, there was about seven police cars surrounding the house. I went inside and found the room of which the man was found dead; he looked as if had been stabbed with some type of sharp object. Just then I saw Mrs. White talking to a police officer, and since I'm the best detective

" what were you doing around 11:30pm the night of the murder?", I asked.
"I was with my daughter, Ms, Scarlett, watching City Lights, she replied.
"And at any moment did you ever leave during it?".
She simply replied with a no at this point I realized her lie but continued anyways.
"Were you any type of friend or acquaintance of Mr. Boddy?", I asked.
"I wouldn't say I was anything of that sort to him", she scoffed.
"And why is that?", I asked.
"We didn't get along the slightest bit, couldn't even stand in the same room as him", she replied.
"That will be all the questions I have for right now", I said and turned around to leave. I went into the lounge to look for clues, but found nothing and checked this room off my list.

Any loving wife would call 911 if she found her husband unconscious on the bathroom floor. Not Mrs. Verbermockle. Although Mr. Verbermockle’s death may appear to be accidental, the evidence overwhelmingly suggests that Mrs. Verbermockle murdered him in cold blood. Mrs. Verbermockle’s reaction to her husband’s “emergency” is highly suspicious. Worse yet, her statements to the doctor do not coincide with the evidence found at the scene.…

ONCE FIREFIGHTERS had jimmied the door that July afternoon, the police squeezed into a beaten apartment groaning with possessions, a grotesque parody of the “lived-in” condition. Clearly, its occupant had been a hoarder. The officers from the 115th Precinct called the medical examiner’s office, which involves itself in suspicious deaths and unidentified bodies, and a medical legal investigator arrived. His task was to rule out foul play and look for evidence that could help locate the next of kin and identify the body.…

Throughout the novel, Of Mice and Men, written by John Steinbeck, the author depicts underlying literary elements to help enhance the reader’s understanding of dissimilar characters. During the novel, two main characters are followed in their search for their American Dream. Lennie, who is portrayed as powerful, unintelligent man, is only sought after as a good workman. George, who is depicted as Lennie’s companion and caretaker, sometimes is seen as burdened by Lennie’s unintelligible demand. George is deemed morally responsible for Lennie’s actions, which continually are not very excusable ones.…

It was the middle of November and I was sent to Samalut, Egypt to assist Sarah Parcak, Josh, and Noah, where they discovered a peculiar looking human bone buried 10 feet down in the sand. Sarah discovered this site, by using the satellite imaging analysis that helps find buried ruins. The sun was beating on our backs, as we worked long hours, barely getting anywhere close to reaching the item. Around noon, our crew had dug approximately halfway down, when suddenly a colossal sand storm was approaching us at an exceptionally fast rate.…

"You both hate people. " It was the first thing he could think of, and it came almost too abruptly. They would've both agreed with him too, Jack thought, but that didn't stop him from cringing a little at what would've been an insult to just about anyone else. He set one mug in front of Jasper and perched sideways on his chair with the other cradled precariously in his palm, like a beer can, elbows on his knees, eyeing the boy across from him with new scrutiny.…

Title Maddie saw the shadowy figure plummet into the icy waters of the Ohio River and when it made impact the loud bang of ice breaking echoed across the forest. A moment later she heard the screams as the figure, most likely a man, slipped beneath the ice. Maddie sprinted down the steep banks wondering what help a 15 year old could be to a suicidal, possibly already dead man. She skidded to a stop at the banks of the river, not wanting to risk her life on the unstable ice and called out, “Are you okay!” As expected she got no response and tentatively took a step out on the ice.…
