Have you ever heard of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? Mozart is one of the greatest composers in history. Some of his famous pieces include Don Giovanni and the Magic Flute. He is so well known that a film was based on the life of Mozart called Amadeus. In the film Amadeus, it contains a story line that is not completely true because it is historical fiction.

In the film Antonio Salieri was the Court Composer to Emperor Joseph II. In real life Salieri and Mozart were never close but this film portrayed them as so. As young child, Salieri adored music however his father was against it. As a result he turned to God. His prayer was for God to make him a great composer, to celebrate God through music and become immortal and in return he'll give

He became against God just because he did not get what he desired. In the film, Mozart did several things that outraged Salieri gradually. He had a fling with “Salieri's girl” even though he was engaged. He felt threatened by Mozart because of his talent however it was by the most boastful, lustful, crud, arrogant person ever. Salieri was so angery with Mozart that he was thinking about killing him. He decided the to pretend to be the ghost of Mozart's dead father and coax him into writing a requiem so that he can claim it as his own after his death. Salieri was willing to go that far. He was too blind by jealousy for Mzoart's talent and irritated by God.

The film “Amadeus” not only reflected on the life of Mozart but the traits of Classicism. During the Classicism period, musicians were a part of the servant class and not the noble class. Italian was the language of the opera during this period and was about gods and goddesses, etc. The German language was for the common people. Their pieces emphasize on the importance if one note is displaced the whole structure falls apart. Mozart wanted to write about the common people and their lives. However the older men were against Mozart's work due to sticking to the Baroque
