Moya's 'The Raven': A Narrative Fiction

Moya rolled her eyes.
"Oh, come on, that was funny!"
"Except it's pronounced Rimorr. Emphasis on 'Rim'."
"Oh, picky, picky. Rimorr, Rimorr. It’s called creative license!" Fritz declared.

Moya flipped to the page after the Lady and saw the heading, ‘Lesser Grivvatte -– Category: Worl Devil’. "Okay, here’s one. Listen. ’The Lesser Grivvatte is a small, hairy beast with pointy teeth and long, dexterous toes…’"
As Moya read, Fritz suddenly noticed the rustling in the forest behind her. He saw the bushes thrashing about and thought he heard a small snarling sound. A small flock of something blew out of the treetops, scattering in all directions like confetti shot from a canon. Ansuz called from his perch.
"’He appears quite harmless, and poses little threat unless provoked. He does possess a noxious smell…‘

Reflecting on the college application process, I noticed that the college essays were stressed very highly, but all the prompts ask for the same thing. Whether they are asking for an eventful moment, your passion, a hobby, or a chosen outsourced prompt, many students seem to convey the same messages in their essays. A prompt that is universal, conveys a meaning, and is always answered uniquely must ask for a narrative: Write a creative story. Walking through the woods one night, Agatha Johansson could not wait to arrive at her friend’s house.…
