Moving To Forks: A Short Story

Improved Essays
They say home is where your family and friends are right. They are certainly wrong. Whoever came up with that stupid line must have been dreaming like I wish I was. The second we came into this stupid town they call Forks I hated it the only reason I came to this rainy town is because of my favorite uncle Harry but suddenly he passed due to a heart attack. When I found out I was heartbroken but not as heartbroken as my cousin Leah and Seth they actually became sick from it. His funeral is tomorrow. Pulling up to the house I internally groaned. The house was larger than my old one and more modern I guess moving to Forks had some perks doesn't mean I'm going to like it here.

My mom got out of the car and I soon followed I opened the door taking

I just shrugged it off and walked into the house shutting the door. It was larger than I expected but very beautiful high ceilings hard wood flooring. It looks like my mom picked it. I made my way up the stairs to see pictures of my family hanging on the wall my brother and my father went missing when I was a little girl. I remember them and sometimes I even cried about it but later on it settled in my mind that they we're gone and never coming back. Making my way upstairs I could identify my room it was a whole ton bigger than my last one. Walk in closet and large bathroom. I had my mother to thank for this at least there was one upside to this move. I started decorating my room with little small little lights and I set up my desk like any other organized student would do. My Macintosh was front and center with my emoji keyboard. Mouse right next to that with some organization things and a cup full of pencils. My dresser had a mirror and a couple plants on it they were succulents because what California tumblr girl does not have succulents in her room.

I finished off by placing my favorite dancer wind up on my bedside table my father had given it to me as a baby.

I collapsed on my bed as I opened my phone I had quite a few text messages from my friends back home.

'Hey Lela I hope you enjoy your stay in Forks the squad is going to miss

Walking out into the hallway I saw my mom waiting for me with something in her hands. When I reached the bottom of the stairs she smiled brightly.

"I know how since your in forks you don't have a dance studio to go to soo. I thought since we had a little extra money in the budget you should get your own Lela cave."

I gaped at her she had to be kidding. We made our way downstairs and she wasn't kidding in the basement was a full dance studios do on the side was a hang out area.

"Mommy you shouldn't have I love it so much Thank you Thank you."

"Anything for my sweet sweet girl as long as you keep your grades up and don't get into too much trouble you can keep the room."

I squealed and hugged her so tightly she just chuckled and gave me a kiss on my hair. She went back upstairs leaving me to look around my dance studio had surround sound and sound proof walls. The part where my friends could hang out is next to that and it has a door that leads outside. Walking back upstairs I checked the time it was only 8:30 so I hung out in my room for the rest of the night and eventually fell
