Moving To Canada

When my family was in Korea, we were a perfectly ordinary family that loved to spend time together. There was nothing special in our life, and it was as calm as heaven. However, the turning point in my life began when my parents made a special decision. The decision that they made was to move to Canada, and live a brand new life. My parent’s love towards my family is the reason my parents made a hard decision of moving. Making a choice of coming to Canada taught me that with braveness, there is nothing that I cannot do in my life. My parents first came to Canada when they were both 34 years old. I was 11 years old and my brother was 7 years old. My parents are the most significant people in life because they have given me a lot of inspirations …show more content…
Moving to a different country was not an easy choice to make, since my parents were old and had to 2 children that required a lot of support. One of the events that my parents showed me their braveness was by going to ICBC. My parents wanted to change their licenses, in order for them to use it in Canada. My parents went to ICBC without a single help or interrupter, and manage to succeed in changing the licenses. My dad could not speak English at all; however, he used his body language, and some of the words that he knew. It was the amazing thing to hear because I would get really embarrassed, and could not have done it. It showed me not to be afraid or embarrassed by lack of knowledge. After hearing this story, I became brave about the fact that I can talk to others. I was a really shy girl, and I was in middle school. It was tough talking to others, and I was afraid of misunderstanding or miscommunicating. Therefore, I always kept quiet, and I would hide at the back to avoid others talking to me. However, my parents taught me how to be brave, and it is okay to make mistakes. After that I was talking to others without any problems, and successfully went to high school.
