Samuel and his parents have different cultural notions, which make it very inopportune to understand one another. To commence this, Samuel moved to America at the age of 15 while Berl and Berlcha settled in Poland. In America money is something many strive for while in in Lentshin Poland to have less is to have more. They trust one another and believe that they are safe with one another. All through the villages life they have grown accustomed to believing in one another and accepting each other and help from others. It came to Berl and Berlcha’s son that America was wrong; Lentshin does not need money and reorganization, only one another. Lentshin is a place with the wealth of the mind and soul, not for riches.
