I am the third oldest. I did not have any memories of my father because was not in Haiti when I was growing up. He left Haiti when I was a toddler. If I remember correctly, I think I met him on the phone. He went visited Haiti when I was 14 years old. During his visit, he told us that he filled all the required paper so we could go live in the US. When I first heard the news, I was really excited about it because I knew of some of the opportunities that could come with such initiative. However, after I asked of all of the questions I could possibly ask, I was informed that my mother wasn’t coming with us, I and my three other siblings. The reason why was because my father married and had another song with his wife. Imagine being accustomed to your mother for 18 years and now you’re leaving her to go live with a mother-in-law, and a father whom you barely know. Even though leaving Haiti was not forever, but I was still not pleased about it because I left my family and my friends there. On March 16, 2007, on our way to the airport, I remember my mother and I was talking; I was telling her how much I was going to me and I love her. “She replied, I love you more, I want you to watch out for the girls and most importantly remember how I raised you” that was her way of saying stay out of trouble and don’t let me down. I then replied, yes mother I will not disappoint you. As we exited the car at the airport, when we looked at our mother eyes, we all started crying because she was not happy. Her face showed that she was in pain. It looked like the same pain she went through when was given birth to us. That was the saddest day in my entire life; it hurt more when I knew that I could not do anything to lessen her pain. The only way that could happen was
