Moving The Tractor Analysis

Decent Essays
Purchasing a used tractor at auction is one way to get a good-priced piece of farm equipment, but you can't exactly drive it home after the event. An oversize transport company is going to make short work of this particular task for you, but the tractor needs to be in a transportable condition before it can be loaded up onto the trailer. These three tips will help you to get your farm machinery loaded up and on the road as soon as possible after the auction hammer falls for the final time.

Tyres

The tractor needs to be driven onto the transport trailer, which means you need four fully inflated tyres to achieve this. The fastest way to do this is using an air compressor. If you do not have a mobile air compressor unit with you, check with the auction organizers to see if they have one available for use. If not, you will need to either rent one from the closest hardware store, or you will need to use the services of a mobile tyre service to inflate the tyres.

Therefore, these are two areas that need to be checked before the transport truck arrives.

You certainly don't need to fill the fuel tank of the tractor, in fact, it is a good idea not to because this increases the weight of the machine. Since your transportation cost is based on the weight of the tractor, all extra weight should be removed from the tractor to lower the weight. Putting in enough gas to take the tank to 1/8th full is more than enough for the trip.

Additionally, make sure the tractor starts easily on the first try. If it does not, the battery may either be dead or need charging. Take the battery to your closest automotive store for testing if it does not want to turn over when you turn the key.

Chapter 6, “When Farmers Shut Off the Machinery”, by Brian A. Devore, is about farmers who have resulted in using what they see on their own farm and to observe changes to decide what is best rather than jumping to conclusions and possibly trying to use the newest silver-bullet fix. Many different things approaches were used in the chapter. David Podoll keeps track of the weeds near his farm. The imagery to the poem "Red Wheelbarrow" (Williams, 1923), presents many images and strong feelings for a person to think about. But, first it makes me get the image of a farm tool that is needed for most every day jobs done on a farm, oh the number of times I've had to push a wheelbarrow to complete a task on the dairy farm I grew up on. This imagery takes me back to good memories that I had growing up on the farm, but it also has terrible memories as well, because of the amount of work required to push and balance a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow's presence gives the image of many a young farm kids having to complete chores, and how hard that would be if not for that Red Wheelbarrow.…
