Moving Into A Dorm

Moving into a Dorm is always extremely exciting experience for any incoming college freshman. All of the new people and amazing memories that are waiting on you when you move in. Sadly, with the memories, great experiences, and new friends; there is loneliness and insecurity. All of the negative could be avoided by taking my advice on how to live a happy dorm life. When you first get moved in to the dorms, make sure that you get there early so that you can help other people move in with the chance to gain new friends early. Continue to walk around and mingle even after everyone has moved in and started to get settled in. College is not the place to be shy at all; introduce yourself and be a “social butterfly”. Hopefully, you’ve carefully picked your roommate, making it easier for you to be happy while living in the dorms for the next year or semester. When it comes to customizing your dorm room, you must take your time and make sure that your room feels as much as like home as possible. Bring almost all of the details and decorations from your room back home and put them as close as possible to the same spot as they were in your room back home. I still struggle with this myself and it’s the main cause of any stress I ever have in college. I like to look at myself as a real laid back person that doesn’t allow anything to bother me; but I’ll tell you this, school work at the college level gets me stressed out more than anything. Stay on top of your work and you will be fine, and make sure to be nice to your teachers. A teacher that know you’re respectful in class and see that you’re at least trying to improve your grade are more likely to work with a little more when poop starts hitting the
