“What do you mean we’re moving?” I can not believe that my parents just gave me the worst news ever. “Well Dillon what did you think was going to happen? That Phil is just going to drive all that way for work, and then all the way home after?” Well he did have a point there, it does seem crazy to drive back and forth through two states just for work.”Well no, not really.” I just don’t like the idea of leaving this place though, I grew up here after all.

~RECAP~ My parents both grew up in England so this would not be that big of a move for them, they moved here to Apple valley, California shortly after they got married and not long after, they adopted me. They both quit their jobs with YouTube (yes, YouTube) so that they could focus on their

Across the hall is the dining room where we have told hundred of stories about our days over dinner and at that table was where i did my homework. A medium sized kitchen is connected to the dining room with a breakfast bar that reminds me of possibly too many rushed bowls of cereal before school, only because Dan didn’t want me to be hungry before lunch, he also thought that he would look like a bad dad if he sent his only kid to school …show more content…
(once again, YES i have two fathers, get over it!) In my room was a desk along with my laptop, my twin sized bed and my tv, which was mounted on the wall. i had hard wood flooring, but there was a rug by my bed. I usually kept my room well which is hard to believe since i’m a 14 year old boy. my walls are painted white and i have grey curtains over my window. my bed spread is a mix of black and grey squares with black sheets. I also have a bathroom to myself but it's just a bathroom, nothing special about it.

across the hall from my room is the office where my dad Dan does most of his work. inside the room there is a large desk with two computers and two desk chairs pushed up against the wall facing the window that overlooks our back yard. behind the desk, on the wall where the door is, is a photon, that is where i would usually sit and play games on my laptop while my parents would work. In a way that room was more of a second family room than an

Room 0742 is a studio design room located in king pavilion at the Iowa State University college of design. In a way it represents the beginning of my journey at Iowa State, for it is the first class room I had ever been in as a student, and its represents hours and hours of hard work and dedication to my major. It is a rather bittersweet place with times where it became a place to put my work on display as well as a place to spend many long nights and very early mornings working and developing. The space itself physically is not a room by traditional means it has no doors and stall like walls that rise above the ground six to eight inches as well as an opening at the top.…

In the short story, “From B’wood to the Hood” the author Ryan Smith talks about the struggle of moving from one side of town to the other side. The first thing that stuck out to me in the story was when the author says, “I broke the news to my mother that I was moving from Brentwood to the hood”. This reminds me of when I recently decided to tell my mom that I was moving to Denver, Colorado from Lancaster, PA. Although she did take the news better than I thought, she still tried to talk me out of moving. She eventually started to support me with my new endeavor in life and she wound up driving out to Colorado with me the last week of July. Another thing that popped out at me while reading was “my father separated from my mom”.…

It just has what my dad would consider the essentials for my room. I don’t have a TV in there because he doesn’t want me up too late watching it on school nights. I also don’t have a makeup stand in that room because my dad believes that I shouldn’t even be wearing makeup. The rooms at both my mom’s and dad’s houses do have one similarity, and that would be that I sleep in them. Other than that, the rooms are totally…

I had always moved around in my life, but this was somehow different. The hardest part about moving was going to be leaving my best friend, Cameron. We were like two peas in a pod and it was going to be hard to leave her behind.…

WOOSTER — What started as a reactionary comment in a meeting has become a reality as dozens of people celebrated the opening of a new facility housing NAMI/MOCA House on one side and Anazao Community Partners on the other. State and local officials, joined by community partners and supporters, toured the former LifeCare Hospice headquarters on Back Orrville Road to see what has become of the place. Doug Bailey, community capital project manager for the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services, said he appreciated the collaborative nature of the endeavor, saying something like this might not work in every part of the state. Ken Ward, executive director of Anazao (formerly Your Human Resource Center), recalled how he would see the…

Personal reflective account I have chosen to use Kolb 's (1931) experiential learning model of reflection to reflect on my personal experience of moving house. I considered this to be the best model to assist me in reflecting on my experience as it allowed me to reflect on what happened, what my experience was, why it happened and what I will do when/if it happened again (McLeod, 2010). What happened? I lived with my parents for 20 years, we had always lived in the same house, so I had never experienced the transition of moving before. In May 2014, my partner and I decided to purchase our first home.…
