From India to Africa! Africa to India! India to America! Moving, Moving and Moving. Ever since I was a young girl, I have been moving from continent to continent with my family and it became an obstacle for me because it interfered with my education. My parents are always blamed for my education interruption, but they moved from continents to continents to secure our future and give us a better life; they don’t want us to suffer what they had to suffer from and they wanted to fulfill all our needs. Throughout my high school years, I have been determined to do well; work hard to earn good grades and be successful because of moving continents to continents, I am a year behind in my education. The struggle of my parents inspired me to work hard and earn good grades throughout high school and the inspiration will continue in college too since, I want to give them a better life in their old age. I just didn’t work hard for my parents but I wanted to work hard and earn good education for myself since, I am the first girl in my family to go to college. Moving from India to America was not easy. The cultural gap and the language was something that separated me from the rest of the students. I barely spoke English when I moved to U.S but, I fought my way from elementary school to high school. In elementary school it was so hard for me communicate with peers as well teachers because, I was so new to the school system. I never used a computer before in India, It was so hard for me to do homework and projects since in America we do those stuff on computers. To get better in English I tried talking to my friends in English and I learned English by observing others and whenever I was confused of something I would always translate the word or phrase to understand it better. The grading system, the homework system and tests and quizzes systems were all totally different from India. I had to
