I looked out the window and it was snowing like a bright white blanket covering everything in its path. I stared at the pure, white, beautiful snow and thought of how much I wanted to jump in it and play around. I was excited because it was snowing and I loved the snow but how was my mom going to feel about it? I ran down the stairs looking for her but she wasn’t there the smell of old coffee filled the air. “She at her hair appointment,” I turned around and my aunt was there with a cup of …show more content…
It was finally time to walk back and get ready for the reception as I walked down the stairs I tripped a little still trying to get used to my legs. I made a quick recovery and walked down the rest of the aisle and through the doors. I was consumed by darkness because the power was still out, but the beautiful illumination of the hundreds of bright scented candles. I walked over to my table and we ate food, danced, and had fun. After the party it was time to take the family wedding photos I got my grandparents my parents and my sister we all took funny photos then we had to take serious pictures but it was fun at the same time. I was finally alone with my mom and I got up the nerve to say “I don't want a family I just want it to be me and you.” I don’t know why I was scared to say that. She hugged me and said “ It's ok you will get used to it you're going to have a sister and i'll still be here just because there are new people in the family doesn't mean I love you any less,” she hugged me

The warmness of the afternoon mixed with the cool breeze blowing lightly tickled my nose as I swung in a white crochet hammock. I could hear the faint sound of the lapping of the lake on the rocky shore. Bugs chirped to say goodbye to summer and the sun cast across the water making it glimmer. I looked across the water to cherry island which I longed to visit but my mom and dad told me no because it was private. I saw the old boat "patches" resting on the grass near the shore drying.…

I had woken up on Saturday morning, my stomach growling like an angry tiger begging for food, my eyes puffy and red, black streaks running down my cheeks, my throat hoarse and my voice gone from the events that took place the night before. I felt my hair and pictured my mothers’ fingers running through it while stroking my back in order to get me to fall asleep. Throwing my legs off the bed, my purple fuzzy socks touching the cold wooden floor, I picked myself up and walked over to my dresser mirror where I was taken aback to see my thick curly hair sticking up in all directions and the dried up drool crusted on the side of my face along with my red lipstick from the night before smeared all around my lips as if I were a clown. I thought…
