Moving Away At Home Analysis

Many times people “often lose track old friends [they] never see again.” Perry Patetic in his excerpt, explains how the invention of planes, trains, and automobiles is actually a negative thing because we lose our close relationships. The author supports his claim by first discussing how when we move away we tend to lose our close relationships. The authors purpose is to pursue the reader to believe that today's transportation is actually bad because we don't have people we can depend on. People should be allowed to travel, we can always connect with our loved ones through social media but travels gives us an opportunity to meet new people that we would not necessarily come across. Some may say that being able to travel is not necessary because people lose the close relationships with people in our lives. Perry Patetic believes that when people move, we tend to lack the close, supportive relationships, that people in former relationships enjoyed. Patetic explains this to show how important some of these relationships are, and to try to show the reader how horrible it would be without these relationships. People can use skyping, Facebook, Instagram or cell phones to keep in touch .with their loved ones. People are able to see each other if they are homesick or they want to reinforce these relationships. Secondly, being able to move is good because it opens up job opportunities which might not be possible otherwise. A friend of mine recently had to move because her mom was being given a promotion. What may begin as a difficult life experience will eventually be good in the long run. If there is a legitimate reason, moving might not be the worst experience in the world.
