The book “The Outsiders” was written by S. E. Hinton. The movie “The Outsiders” was produced by Gray Frederickson and directed by Francis Coppola. If one wants to truly understand the story of the “Outsiders”, I think they should watch the movie. The book does not give us enough detail because I think you can really see the people and the places in the movie. For instance, the book starts with when Ponyboy and Johnny get jumped by a gang called the Socs. Before they were jumped the Socs were high on drugs. Also this happened in the movie but it happened later than what it did in the book.
