Ray Kroc Ray Kroc is one of the smartest business men in the world in my opinion. He transformed a small one restaurant business called McDonalds into one of the biggest organization still today. People can now find McDonalds in almost every town in the United States of America. In order to be a successful business man, a person needs two things, good ethics and leadership skills. Ethics is the persons morals, behaviors and attitude towards a thing. With good ethics a person can accomplish many things in life. Ray portrayed good ethics and leadership skills through his determination and behaviors. Ray Kroc was always determined in life to be better and never settle. In the movie, The Founder, Ray Kroc starts off by trying to sell his ice …show more content…
A great business leader needs fantastic ideas that will help his organization improve, Ray did have these ideas. First off, he came up and forced the idea of franchising McDonalds. If Mr. Kroc never brought this idea to the brothers of the first McDonalds ever there would still only be one lonely McDonald store in California. With this great idea to franchise, McDonalds is now coast to coast across the United States and even in other countries. Another fantastic idea Ray wanted to do was have Coca Cola sponsor McDonalds but Dick and Mac said no. I think this was bad leadership on Mac and Dicks part because they could have gained more customers from the sponsors. Sponsorships spread knowledge to people about your particular business. The last good behavior that Ray achieved was his idea to bring in the milkshake mix. This milk shake mix was made with water but still tasted like an amazing milkshake. The benefit from bringing in the milkshake mix was that it would save the company tons of money compared to making real milkshakes. There was also no downside in this because it tasted like a milkshake anyways, even without milk in it. These are just a few examples of how Ray always wanted the best for the company and proves how he is a good

Leadership Interview I recently had the opportunity of interviewing Mr. Maity who has more than ten years of experience in leadership positions within his organization. He started his career after grad school with a small non-profit research organization. His leadership abilities were quickly realized and he became a part of a large company as a Project Manager. He recalls that in his first job, the small size of the company and the nature of operations meant that soon after joining the firm, he started taking up multiple responsibilities with many being outside of his core functional role. This valuable learning experience has allowed him to excel in his current leadership position.…

Effective leadership could contribute to the success of change. Leadership plays an important role in mobilizing organizational change, as can be seen in the Kodak case. According to the trait theory, effective leadership should have some key traits. Generic traits of the leaders might be similar, for example, Carp and Perez have some common traits such as job-relevant knowledge (Kirkpatrick and Locke, 1991). However, it cannot be easily concluded that traits alone are sufficient for effective leadership or the absence of some of these traits make them any less leader, because trait theory ignore the interaction between leaders and their followers as well as other situational factors (Robbins and Coulter, 2002).…

The United States faces a leadership crisis as the confidence and trust in leaders has fallen to an all-time low. Berkovich (2014) recommends a framework of dialogical pedagogy within the organization to develop and support authentic leadership. The strengths of authentic leadership include the increased ability of organizations to obtain higher commitment and performance levels.…
